Common questions about therapy

Psychotherapy is a psychological tool  used by mental professionals such as psychologists that includes various types of therapies.  Depending on the type of therapy, most of them consist of communication and exercises in order to   help the client deal with certain traumas or difficulties in life or explore the inner self. Psychotherapy does not include any medications  as part of the treatment.

Statistically,  80% of people, at some point in life, experience depression or anxiety. It is completely normal to need help and ask for it when overwhelmed with a stressful situation or  when experiencing an internal conflict.   Turning to a mental health professional on time could help  omit complicated situations and irrational decisions. It can also help diagnose and treat a disorder that needs attention on time before any medication might be essential.

  • confidential and non-judgemental environment
  • professionally structured dialogue  and an honest relationship with a non-biased professional
  • better understanding of inner conflicts and  managing  emotions.
  • therapeutic focus depending on the chosen therapy style.

Integrative therapy is a personalised, holistic approach that blends techniques and principles from various therapeutic models to meet the specific needs of each client. This flexible method draws on a range of therapeutic practices, tailoring the approach to address the unique challenges and goals of the individual.

Hypnotherapy, also known as hypnotic suggestion, is a therapeutic technique that uses guided hypnosis to help individuals enter a deeply focused and relaxed state. In this trance-like state, a person experiences heightened concentration, reduced peripheral awareness, and increased openness to suggestions. This state is similar to becoming fully absorbed in a book, movie, music, or personal thoughts. While in this state, individuals remain fully in control of their actions but are more responsive to ideas or imagery. A trained hypnotherapist guides clients to focus inward, tapping into their inner resources to promote positive behavioural changes, manage pain, or address other physical concerns. Over time, clients can learn to navigate these states of awareness independently, gaining greater control over their physical and emotional responses.

We will focus on personal development and learn how to strengthen our adult ego by changing maladaptive behaviours, 'unhealthy' beliefs and scripts. We will learn to take responsibility for your own life and everything that is wrong with it. We will learn necessary tools to change our beliefs and behaviours and treat our inner child and childhood traumas. This approach is useful to solve communication problems, reduce anxiety and stress by taking responsibility for your own actions.

Psychodynamic therapy

We will go deep into the roots of initial suffering and inner conflict and explore how past events shape our present day struggles. We will work on the unconscious part through associations, interpretation of dreams and etc. It suits clients with the childhood trauma, relationship with parents and the present struggles. This therapy suits people with childhood trauma, anxiety and depression, personality or mood disorder.

Mindfulness-based CBT

What clients say

Testimonials

Katherine helped me a lot untying the roots of my depression. Doing so, she always ensured an atmosphere that really takes the name “safe space” literally. The combination of science-based approaches together with personal connection, openness and warmth enabled me to open up and talk freely. She is very invested in her clients and sees them as a whole, not just as the illness. With all that, I can recommend Katherine as a therapist for people new to therapy as well as therapy-experienced people like me.

Client L.K

I was struggling with pre-natal anxiety, and reached out to Katherine for support. She is kind, non-judgemental and very knowledgeable. I appreciate her 360 degree approach, which mixes different types of therapy for various issues. She’s always updating her training and I love that she can bring that into our sessions. For me personally, I like to understand why I am feeling a certain way, and she’s very good at explaining the science and also the emotional side of things. Highly recommend!

Client L.

Katherine is the best therapist I’ve ever had. She is very experienced and knowledgeable, empathetic, and goal-orientated. And what I’ve also found especially great is her open-mindedness and willingness to try new approaches. Can’t recommend enough!
